The Fall Mantle Change-Up

The mantle is my first place to go for big, easy impact for seasonal decor changes. This mantle isn’t very deep so it keeps me focused on adding just a few things. Adding items with height versus overloading the entire shelf front to back with too many items keeps it uncluttered and makes cleaning and changing out for the next season a littler easier too.

Focus on putting things out that will carry you through the season. I don’t always have the time to change the mantle up every 4-8 weeks, and personally I like to enjoy the moment of each season. So that means, Fall is until Thanksgiving is entirely over. Like no leftovers over! And Christmas decorating begins early December.

Remember to mix the old and the new, this is a perfect spot to add fresh or faux greenery too. The old brass and formal look of the candlesticks works well together with the rustic wood shelf we built from old wood we found here at the farmhouse. Adding the glass vase gives a little sparkle and shine and stands out with the natural texture of the dried hydrangea’s.

The items above: Brass Candlesticks and Wooden Box, antique store finds, Black Candles from the CandleNScent Store on Amazon.com, Faux Pomegranate Stems Amazon.com

Ideas to consider for your mantle:
*For the most impact, less is more
*Use items that give height and drama, such as candlesticks and vases
*Have fun with color or keep it monochromatic for a more modern look
*Add texture by incorporating dried or faux greenery

Happy Fall Decorating,
Amanda
